Developing emotional resilience through deep listening and presence

This workshop will explore mindfulness and music’s ability to directly effect the nervous system. All levels of meditation experience are welcome. No experience necessary.

We will start by exploring the foundations of mindfulness and the nervous system's response to stress. We will practice mindfulness meditation from the Buddhist tradition, with live improvised violin, and vocal music from 14th 14th-century Sufi Qawwali. We will cycle through periods of live musical performance, meditation, and reflection, with deep listening and mindfulness as the anchor.

We encourage you to bring your comfy clothes and any cushions, blankets, or mats that will help you feel comfortable. Participants will leave this workshop with concrete tools for using mindfulness and deep listening in everyday life, including intense moments of stress.
